Not In Employment Education or Training – don’t let this be you.

For the past 20 years or so I have worked with Small and Medium sized business across the UK. Focusing on such things as their sales and marketing, especially using new technology.

In 2001 I partnered to set up a business called The Richard Smith firmly believing that this was going to be a massive change for us personally and for business owners. I still manage this business today.

During 2007/8 it was clear that New Labour policy or making sure that School leavers went on to get a degree or at least have the opportunity was proving to be flawed. From an employers perspective it was clear that the skills required were not low quality degree’s but real qualifications to be able to do real jobs.

Since 2007 the world has changed dramatically with the ‘credit crunch’ causing more economic pain and this looks like it will get worse before it gets better.

At one point I was worried for my children, worried for their futures but taking my blinkers off I have been able to see clearly that change that is coming will only be positive, for those that know and can embrace it. The short presentation below outlines some of this and during 2012 I am on a mission to have an impact on at least 1200 young adults (15  – 24) and to make sure that they understand where the shifts are going to occur, what changes are coming and what action they can take to ensure success.

So my mission in 2012 – is to provide 1200 young adults with the true reasons why HMV will fail and how looking for a Job once qualified could be the worst thing you can do in 12 months amongst some other things that will change the way you think about your future.
