March 2018.
We are now in the throes of another Spring/Winter Storm. We have seen airports closed and chaos returning to the roads the BBC Weather seems insistent on issuing weather warnings every 10 minutes telling us we can’t – we shouldn’t – we mustn’t.
How did it get like this?
It’s no different with business advice – wherever you look there are warnings do this- don’t do this- do that. To the point where it seems nothing makes sense anymore. Long gone are the days when you could simply type in your problem to a search engine and find a number of solutions. Of course, you’ll note that first for hit on the front page of Google are all advertisements, then you have the local maps listing and eventually at some point on the front page you might find one or two genuine businesses there that can actually help you.
Problem as a business owner is what happens next, sure you can click on the link and hope the page you are being taken to will actually offer you some advice or guidance, the fact is very few do that with any modicum of success. But the problem is worse than that, we seem to be under siege from all – the likes of GDPR coming to us in May 2018 just seen to compound the living nightmare of running a business.
The thing is it doesn’t need to be like this, there are more and more options to obtain freedom. It’s not so far away, all you need to do is invest in some kind of cryptocurrency sit back and wait for the riches to arrive, or just make some more contributions to your pensions – you phone your adviser, sure he says that’ll do it, and just as you approach being half dead your pension provider will be in touch telling you you’ve now got a few pennies to spare. Of course we both know that being in business is not without its problems but I feel absolutely sure none of these problems are solved by conventional thinking or conventional problem solvers. It’s now part way through the next millennium.
The old model. Is broken and is never going to work again as it once did. It’s not only me that telling you this, the evidence is all around you – you just need to look.
- A decimated High Street – unless you want a coffee.
- Major online retailers – soaking up demand like a massive sponge.
- Promised reductions in businesses rates being haggled over instead of implemented.
- More money being made from your home going up in value than you can make working.
When you are ready to consider carefully your options as a business owner if you are really interested in making your money work hard for you both inside and outside of your business then you are in the right place.
As I keep saying the old model is completely broken so the point where it is no longer fit for purpose your business needs a fresh approach if it is to survive, and there is no one coming to save you. No Knight in shining armour coming down the lane to sweep you off your feet, and no Government policy that’s gonna solve these problems for you. Really, it’s up to you to make the changes – I’m here to help you with them.
